Shattered Tranquility

Visual Kei news and updates

If you live in the US, you share my disappointment...

Today, the dollar value dropped very low.
Very, VERY low.
The government decided 'Hey, why don't we print a TON of money even though it'll totally ruin our economy even more, BUT maybe in the long run it'll be good!'

So, right now, one dollar equals 89 YEN. That is... unbelievably low!! And also... instead of paying $30 for most CDs, us Americans now have to pay about $36.
Not to mention Japanese clothing. I had been considering buying some Moi-Meme-Moitie soon, but it's so expensive already, now it'll just be insane.

Anyway, I haven't preordered D's new CD or Kanon Wakeshima's first CD because I want to wait and see if it will get a bit better.... hopefully it will.

Sorry for this little rant, but it really pissed me off. xD;;

tl;dr: OUR ECONOMY SUCKS.

edit: Just thought I should add this... it really doesn't sound like a lot, I guess, but considering that Japanese CDs already cost so much (at the stores, American CDs cost $15 or so), not to mention shipping costs, and usually I (I don't know if it's the same for others) like to order at least two CDs at the same time to make shipping costs better. I dunno, maybe it only sucks for me because I'm a little 14 year-old without a job other than babysitting and so it's already hard enough for me to buy CDs. xD;;
Okay, I'm done now.

Well, as of right now, the rate has jumped back up to 1 USD = 99.2 yen, which is significantly better than it was earlier in the month.

I'm hoping the rate gets better over the summer and more importantly doesn't dip again. I plan on making a trip and I'd like to not spend $1000 more than I initially intended. D:
