ダウト was formed in December 2006 originally under the name D=OUT though the pronounciation 'dauto' has always been the same. The band concept is 'patriotic entertainers' which is often reflected in their music and lyrics. They began by playing a few secret lives but didn't officially start activities till March 2007.

Their first single 'flashback' was distributed at their live on the 3rd March 2007.
They later relased their first official single 'heisei bubble' on June 22nd which quickly sold out. A second press was released in August and that also sold out.

The band was then signed to Speed Disk and released their 2nd maxi single 'shirohata sengen' on 24th October with 'barairo no jinsei' their 3rd single following in December.

The releases continued into 2008 with 'bankoku dai tokyo/akai kasa to anata' and later during April and May their first mini albums 'rouman domyaku teki chabangeki' and 'rouman jomyaku teki chabangeki' both of which featured re-recordings and re-releases of their sold out singles and their first pv's for 'flashback' and 'harukaze shalala'. It was during this time they officially changed their name to ダウト.

In August they released their first full album titled 'Zipang' which featured their 3rd pv for the song 'shangrila' and were also signed to the European label CLJ records using their original name D=OUT.

On December 17th they will release their 5th single 'myojou orion' and it's pv as well as embark on their first oneman tour in Japan and in 2009 their first European tour.
